This past week, Lake Norman Men's Varsity Lacrosse took a spring break trip to Long Island, New York. The Wildcats came rolling into New York with confidence, riding on a 7 game win streak, but also with a point to prove.

Lake Norman have proven themselves this year to be one of the best teams in the state of North Carolina. After a rough start to the season, losing 4 of their first 7 games, the Wildcats turned things around. They finished regular season conference play undefeated (4-0) and defeated rivals, Mooresville, 18-4.

Coach Brugger and his team came to Long Island on a roll and were determined to keep their season on an exponential upward trend.

Despite coming to Long Island having lost against both out of state opponents faced this season (Kiski [PA], Montgomery Bell [TN]), Lake Norman proved themselves to be the elite team seen in the second half of the season. They won all three games played in New York by an aggregate score of 39-19, and won each game by a larger margin than the last.

Junior attacker, Mitchell Cody provided 7 assists. Additionally, Lake Norman was solid at the back with James Brugger, Christian Nell, Sean Riley and Brandon Garcia all putting in a strong shift on defense, and Ricky Bockavich making 12 saves from 19 shots on goal.
