How it Affects ISS

Starting August 1, 2021, high school sports conferences look different  due to the NCHSAA Realignment plan passed this year.

An NCHSAA executive explains that the plan seeks to provide a 'home' conference that can provide fair and equitable athletic opportunities for all North Carolina students and will be in effect through the 2024-2025 season.

So, you're wondering how this will affect Iredell-Statesville Schools Athletics?

The summary of realignment :

West Iredell moves up from 2A joining North Iredell and Statesville in the 3A West Conference 51.

South Iredell moves up from 3A joining Lake Norman in the 4A West Conference 57.

Only two former opponents, Mooresville and Fred T. Foard, will be competing within the conferences.
